Pay Attention to me...or the socks get it!!!

So my youngest sister got a new job. She will have to do a lot of talking at her new job so I figured she would need the practice. As a joke, I knit her a pair of these socks -- see all the faces? I figured she could talk to them and the best part is, they don't talk back :-)

Well, Quail must have decided that either

1. I spend more time on knitting than on her OR

2. She would like a pair of socks for herself -- or rather two pairs since she has 4 feet OR

3. The orange yarn was particularly yummy looking.

The day after I gave the socks to my sister, Quail got a hold of them. I came downstairs, she showed me she had the sock and then took off for a fun game of chase. When I caught her, I realized I no longer had a matching pair of socks...she ate the toe off of one of them.

To say that I was angry and upset is an understatement. Needless to say, I have learned my lesson -- all handknit items and probably everything else of any sort of value must be up high or put away out of the reach of puppy.

It's a good thing she is cute.
