Rumor has it...

Ava arrived in our home June 11, 2008, just a year and a few days ago. Hard to believe she has grown so much. Rumor has it that she will be returning to the Seeing Eye sometime next month. We haven't received an official phone call with a date but it doesn't surprise me. She will be 15 months in July and the youngest puppy we've raised to return to the Seeing Eye, but we know the Seeing Eye is hoping to eventually get the females back at around 13 months old.

We're preparing ourselves for the phone call and her return but I know we'll never be ready.

Hard to believe she'll be leaving soon. We've already put in for another puppy but we may be puppy-less for a little while until a new pup is available for us to raise.

It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

We teach our Seeing Eye pups to sit nicely while we get food ready. Since Harley is a major drooler, we have now trained both of them to sit on the little rug in front of the sink while kibble is being dished. I must have forgotten to feed the cats that day since they showed up when they heard the sound of kibble. Olivia (gray kitty) did manage to get some dog food -- Ava knows where she stands in the "household pack" and she is below everybody including the cats. So when Olivia nudged her way in for a bite, Ava backed off.

And yes, I did nudge Olivia out of the way and promptly put food in the cat bowls too :-)
