Hoppin' round the bunny trail...

Ed's family came over for Easter Dinner -- Ava and Harley had a great time running around. They did want to decorate Easter Eggs but we ran out of time.
I don't think I will ever understand why a 65 pound dog has to lie on my lap while being tackled by a 75 pound dog. But I guess it doesn't matter as long as they have fun :-)
Harrison waited patiently for his Easter Dinner -- he was very disappointed to learn that we weren't serving Peter Cottontail.

Ava and Harley

Harley was always a cuddler and Ava is very affectionate so it was no surprise to us that they like to snuggle with each other. It is just too cute.

Daddy's Home

All I have to do is say "I think Daddy's coming home" and Ava and Harley will sit by the front door waiting and waiting and waiting. Ava will occasionally cry if Ed doesn't show up soon but they both get so excited when he walks in the front door. It's a lot more excitement than they show for me when I come in but that's okay--I really don't want to be greeted at the front door with two hyper dogs bouncing around and running to get toys for me to play tug with. :-)

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Every year, our Seeing Eye Puppy Club goes on a field trip to Newark Airport with lots of other Seeing Eye puppies. It's a fun trip -- we get to go behind the scenes and see the airport fire trucks, sometimes we get to see working dogs like bomb and drug sniffers, and we get to go on an airplane to see how the puppies fit.

Ava fit nicely on the airplane. It's so nice of the airlines to ground a plane for us to go on and sit for a little bit.
It was a beautiful day to be walking outside even with the fire truck sirens blaring. We also got to see them use the hose even though there was no fire to put out.
We were at the airport for a few hours and by the time we got home, everyone was tired. Ava was pooped for the rest of the day!

Why this old thing? I only wear it when I don't care how I look...

I had a dress that must have been attacked by moths because it had holes in it that were not on any of the seamlines. I was going to throw it out when I realized that since it was made out of a really stretchy material, I could probably get it on Ava pretty easily. So we had a little fashion show with Ava as the star.
She wasn't very happy wearing the dress but she tolerated it pretty well.

Her real preference would be to use the dress as a chew toy. The dress went into the drawer of "dog stuff" -- maybe it will be this year's Halloween costume!
