Harley Ain't Happy

Last fall, Harley kept licking his paw until it was raw. I took him to the vet and they put him on antibiotics because it was infected. He stopped all the licking when winter set in but now that we have had a few warm days, he is back to licking his paws -- he may have allergies!

I scold him to make him stop the licking and he has now learned to lick very quietly. The next solution...boots! Needless to say, he did not like them. At first I only put it on the one paw that he was licking but when he walked he refused to put any weight on that foot. So I put a boot on the other foot and off we went for a walk.

It took him about a block of walking funny before he realized that he could walk normally in the boots. He did walk a lot slower though so it didn't make for a good work out (no mallomars for me!) but we did prove that he can walk in boots.

Maybe he wouldn't mind so much if the boots were black...
